Clinical Assistant Professor of Engineering Science (Biomedical Engineering)
LUC Department of Engineering Science invites applications for a three-year renewable, full-time, non-tenure-track position at the rank of clinical assistant professor, beginning fall 2017. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses within a system theory-based curriculum, with a 4/3 course load. The successful candidate will oversee and teach sections of Biomedical Engineering Lab, biomedical engineering specialty courses, and core engineering courses, and will assist in the development and implementation of two rigorous Biomedical Engineering capstone design courses. A Ph.D. in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or electrical engineering, as well as 4 years of full-time industry or government experience, are required. About the Department: Engineering Science began to offer its BS Engineering Science degree in fall of 2015, and plans to seek ABET accreditation in fall of 2019. The specializations in this program are biomedical, computer, and environmental engineering. The Engineering Science faculty includes Clinical Assistant Professors, who incorporate real-world experience into their teaching, and enable students to gain a better understanding of everyday engineering challenges such as product specifications. All courses incorporate active learning (cooperative learning or problem-based learning), with course sections limited to 24 students. The department currently has 5 full-time faculty members. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for one tenure track cybersecurity position at the Assistant Professor level. The department has 21 tenured/tenure-earning faculty with over 600 undergraduate students and about 230 graduate students. The ECE Department has research strengths in the areas of optical materials, signal processing, machine learning, health monitoring, and cybersecurity. Current sources of faculty funding include federal sources such as NSF, NSA, DOD and NASA, and industry.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE: The College of Engineering currently has a research focus that addresses three National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Grand Challenge problems: secure cyberspace; restore and improve urban infrastructure; and engineer tools of scientific discovery. Lecturer Position in Department of Engineering Fundamentals
Applications are invited for one or more lecturer positions in Engineering Fundamentals, home of the Michigan Tech first-year engineering program and an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree program. The initial contract for Professor of Practice is a probationary three-year contract with reappointment considered annually by the department chair. The required qualifications for the position include an earned doctorate in construction engineering and/or management or closely related field and the ability to teach at the undergraduate level. For exceptional candidates with a master's degree in engineering and a minimum of ten years of industry experience, the requirement for an earned doctorate may be waived.
The desired qualifications include licensure/certification in the candidate's specialty or the ability to acquire the license/certification during the initial contract period. Highly competitive candidates would have significant experience in construction engineering and/or management with expertise in the areas of BIM, scheduling, cost estimating, risk management, proposal/contract language and negotiations, project management, personnel management, and/or alternative contracting methods.
The Department recently added a large number of new faculty members and has an ambitious plan to continue growing.
